Looking for a fun, dynamic and rewarding job? We are searching for a talented communications professional to develop, edit and deliver event marketing content over multiple platforms. Supervise a student team and work in a dynamic, collaborative and inclusive office that promotes campus events, student programs, services and departments. Join a professional staff team that values communication, excellence and innovation. This position works with students and professionals across campus; conducts media relations and coordination for projects; and supports department assessment. Central Washington University is located in a vibrant community surrounded by outdoor recreation opportunities and less than two hours from Seattle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a communications field which includes news and feature writing, print and social media marketing, and media relations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AP and Chicago writing styles
  • Experience with web and social media content management tools
  • Experience leading or mentoring staff
  • Experience researching, developing and implementing event marketing plans
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience working with diverse groups and individuals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac environment
  • Experience developing print and online publications
  • Experience in writing and producing content for multiple platforms
  • Experience with photography and video
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms
  • Experience in a higher education setting and knowledge of university policies and procedures
