Delaware Today magazine, a publication of Today Media Inc. in Wilmington, Del., seeks a passionate and dedicated full-time Associate Editor with a positive attitude and a willingness to help take Delaware Today to the next level as a nationally-recognized and award-winning regional magazine. This is an exciting, fast-paced position with the First State’s only glossy statewide lifestyle magazine, and is integral in the production of Delaware Today, our website and ancillary publications. At Delaware Today, we strive to cover our small state in a big way, so please have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and at least two to four years of experience.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Reporting and writing stories and managing content (including scheduling and managing freelance writers and photographers) for various sections of the magazine, and affiliated publications.
  • Contributing ideas for stories, photos and graphics at weekly meetings.
  • Assisting in copyediting and proofreading.
  • Managing supplements, service pieces and special projects as assigned.
  • Attending events after work hours as a representative of Delaware Today and Today Media.

The winning applicant will:

  • Be team-oriented, dedicated, self-motivated, collaborative and creative (and having a sense of humor doesn’t hurt).
  • Possess a portfolio of writing credits that reflects a thorough knowledge of standard English grammar, usage and Associated Press style.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be detailed oriented, organized, skilled at multi-tasking and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
