The Buffalo Bulletin , a nationally recognized weekly publication located in the breathtaking Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our team. Our publication specializes in local news and is committed to delivering high-quality, impactful stories that matter to our readers.

Responsibilities:

Research, report, write and produce exellent content for print, online and social media. Video a plus!

Develop and maintain sources within the community

Attend events, meetings and other activities to cover and report on news and stories relevant to the community

Pitch story ideas and contribute to editorial meetings

Edit and proofread content for accuracy and clarity

Collaborate with other reporters, editors and photographers to produce high-quality content

Qualifications:

This is an entry level position. We like to train from within.

A bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent is preferred.

Strong writing and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing platforms

Passion for  storytelling

4. Experience. Bachelor degree or equivalent. We would prefer some newspaper experience but are willing to train and mentor the right candidate.

5. Play well with others. We have a zero tolerance for drama, anger issues, or office politics.

 Compensation: Please send salary requirements. Starting salary from $36,000 +++ depending on skill set with generous benefit package including 4 weeks paid-time-off, holiday pay, 401(k), and gym membership.
