WhoWhatWhy, the nonprofit, investigative journalism website, is hiring freelance reporters based out of D.C. with expertise in politics and policy. We're a different kind of news organization and look for different kinds of journalists – those who approach stories through unique angles and highlight narratives the mainstream media does not. We are looking for someone with good sources on the Hill, strong initiative, and investigative inclinations and credentials.

Our rates are modest (specifics vary by the writer, story, and other factors), but we pay like clockwork, and you’ll be working with superb editors who improve your writing and make you look good. Most importantly, you’ll be reaching a smart audience as part of a recognized, up-and-coming player in journalism.

To apply, send a resume, cover letter, and writing samples to hr@whowhatwhy.org.
