Do you love telling the stories that make a community sit up and take notice? Do you like to be where the action is? Then we want to hear from you!

The St. Cloud Times, part of Gannett Inc. and the USA TODAY NETWORK, is looking for a reporter who wants to own coverage of the issues and stories in our key suburbs - their school districts, city government and slice-of-life stories. Our ideal candidate is positive, has the ability to learn about and explain key community issues in education and government, and the desire to get out of the office to get the story. Excellent reporting, writing and video skills and a strong social media voice are part of the package.

We’re a digital-first newsroom with proven success in delivering nationally award-winning journalism, and we use audience metrics to help guide our coverage.

You’ll be working in our brand new office four blocks from the Mississippi River in historic downtown St. Cloud. Your co-workers are dedicated fellow reporters, photographers and editors who are committed to experimentation, teamwork and serving our community. We want to help make you better, and we want you to help us do the same!

Recent graduates and reporters with some experience and a willingness to relocate in or near the St. Cloud area should apply.

A valid drivers license and reliable transportation is required for this role.

Application Instructions:

We are eager to learn more about you and how you fit this role. When you apply, don’t limit your upload to a resume; show us what you’ve done. To do so, put together a single document file that includes as much of the following as you can provide:

  1. Your resume – condensed to a few pages.
  2. A cover letter that describes what you would bring to the job.
  3. Links to 3-6 online samples of your work. Show us what you’ve produced or had a hand in that best reflects what you can do.

*It’s important that these items be assembled into a single document, since our application only allows you to upload one document. Completing these steps will ensure that you receive the highest consideration.

We offer a competitive base salary and career growth opportunities. We also offer you a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, Paid Time Off, Company Paid Holidays, employee discount programs and domestic partner benefits. Our 401(k) is top-notch and the contributions you make, up to the first 5%, are eligible for a 100% Company match!
