The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo is looking for an energetic and aggressive journalist to serve as our breaking news/trending reporter.

This is a new position for the Daily Journal, as we place more emphasis on our growing digital product. This reporter will provide regular coverage of breaking news and general news with an eye toward content with the potential of trending online. The ideal candidate will be able to react to developing and trending news while bringing perspective to the story. Urgency and frequency is the key to this job, but the reporter should be able to bring strong reporting and writing skills to every story. The job will cross various areas of the newsroom, so the ability to communicate and work well with others is vital. This reporter will join the digital team, so the ability to assist with social media production and responding to audience needs will be required.

The Daily Journal is a 25,000-circulation locally owned newspaper focused on both print and digital growth. We offer a competitive pay and benefits package.
