Foreign Affairs is looking for a deputy web editor to join its editorial team. He/she will help manage the site's editorial activities; conceptualize, commission, and edit online essays; and shape short- and long-term development priorities.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Commissioning, reviewing, and editing web content
  • Helping to manage web editorial operations
  • Assisting in developing new digital editorial features and products to expand the reach of Foreign Affairs


  • 4 or more years related experience in publishing with significant editing experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience with digital publishing
  • Ability to juggle a wide range of tasks on short deadlines and work well with writers, editors, and Web producers
  • Strong understanding of foreign policy and international affairs
