Core responsibilities of this position include:

Laramie County Community College is dedicated to student success and aspires to develop world-class community college faculty.  The College’s faculty positions have the primary responsibilities of teaching assigned courses, holding regular office hours, being available for students, advising, and collaborating on departmental objectives. In addition, all faculty work in alignment with the College’s mission, vision, and values to continuously improve as professional educators and experts in their field. Faculty further serve the College in collaborative and collegial relationships across the institution. Full-time faculty are offered provisional status upon employment. All LCCC faculty are supported by the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET).

This position will teach students important skills in journalism and mass communication through a co-curricular education model that sees students apply classroom lessons to an independent student media that includes a printed monthly newspaper; daily digital updates, including social media, Wordpress-powered website and e-mail newsletter; and a cable TV station that is prime for an expansion of programming. The instructor would work daily with students, including occasional nights and weekends, to produce journalistic news and feature reports for a variety of platforms (print and digital) while instructing classes in photography, graphics, UX, video, broadcast, etc. The instructor will also assist in curriculum updates and transfer agreements with high schools and universities.

Other duties may be assigned based on institutional need.

Successful completion of the Faculty Academy requirements while on provisional status, allows for application for continuing contract
