Salary$60,000 to $65,000

The Connecticut Mirror (, an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit digital news site, is seeking a reporter to cover health care, health care policy and social services in Connecticut with an emphasis on consumer impact and government accountability.

This reporter will be based in Hartford, but much of the coverage will be focused on people outside the Capitol who are affected by state and federal policy decisions, the evolving health care industry, the politics of health care, and issues of health care equity.

The Mirror focuses on enterprise that brings in-depth understanding of complex issues and captures the high-stakes human impact of health care policy. But this reporter should regularly bring expertise and perspective to daily stories and developments as well.

While most of this reporter’s energies will be devoted to the health care beat, he or she should be prepared to contribute to legislative, budget, election or other coverage when needed.

  • The ability to collaborate and work well as part of a team;
