Description:

The Camera Operator works closely with the field producer in shooting true crime-based programming.

 Responsibilities

  • Setup, breakdown, and operate a television broadcast camera(s) and audio equipment in a courtroom
  • Setup and light live shot locations; light, shoot and mic interviews; shoot b-roll
  • Frequent travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating professional broadcast/ENG television camera(s)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in professional broadcast/cable live television
  • A strong technical understanding of cameras, sound and lighting gear
  • Experience with different types of video cameras including robotic cameras
  • Experience operating an audio mixer console
  • An interest or passion for true crime stories
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication skills
  • An eye for storytelling and the ability to work closely with producers and on camera subjects
  • Someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories with natural sound moments and creative video
  • Someone with a creative sense for good picture composition, lighting and sound design
  • Comfortable communicating with attorneys, judges and courtroom personnel
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
