Can you go beyond simply repeating what happens in public meetings to get the facts and hold elected officials accountable? Are you able to spin on a dime to cover breaking news, then dig down for details behind the headlines? Can you build sources in neighborhoods as well as in city hall?

If so, PennLive is looking for a digital-savvy reporter to join our breaking news team with a primary focus on covering Pennsylvania's capital city.

The ideal candidate will be adept at developing sources to regularly break news and dig deeper for thoughtful follows.

We need an individual who can quickly – and frequently – generate concise copy, compelling ledes and enticing SEO headlines, is comfortable shooting photos or video with your phone and can collaborate with our social media team. 

PennLive is a statewide news gathering organization based in Harrisburg, the state’s capital.

We also have reporters in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

We regularly produce national, award-winning investigative, breaking news and enterprise content in news and sports. And, we average about 4.5 million unique visitors a month.
