The Los Angeles Times is looking for a reporter to cover books, publishing and literary Los Angeles. The books reporter will cover stories local and national about books, authors, the publishing industry, reading, writing and the roles books play in our present moment. The ideal candidate should have experience reporting about culture and a love of books. They will break news swiftly as well as write reported features, and should have an insatiable curiosity about the cultural life of Los Angeles.

We are seeking a journalist who can think creatively about storytelling, who is familiar with and feels comfortable adapting to a variety of multimedia platforms. This role requires a mix of daily beat coverage, quick-turn enterprise and more expansive project reporting across Los Angeles Times’ 24/7 news platforms.

This position is included in the Los Angeles Times Guild.
