The Union newspaper, a six-day newspaper in Grass Valley, Calif., seeks a content editor with the creativity and design skills to make our print pages pop and to produce engaging online content that helps us grow audience online and in print. 

Our content editors edit copy, design news pages, craft online content and assist our digital efforts through social media postings. This is a great opportunity for a creative, web-savvy journalist in a daily newsroom that covers a highly engaged community. Our digital efforts have grown online audience by 50 percent over the past two years and now we seek to turn that audience into loyal readers by publishing engaging content that is highly relevant to our community. Top candidates have excellent communication skills, command of grammar and AP style, page design experience, and a strong grasp of social media.

Western Nevada County’s community of Grass Valley, Nevada City and the surrounding area is situated in the natural beauty of the foothills on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada. Outdoors activities are abundant here, as are entertainment options, locally and nearby in Lake Tahoe, Reno, Sacramento and the Bay Area. This full-time position offers competitive compensation and a full benefits package.
