CBS4, in El Paso, TX,has an exciting opportunity for a full time Morning News Anchor / Noon Reporter. You must have a strong understanding of social media and its value. The ideal candidate will be a newsroom leader who thrives on breaking news, field anchoring, and winning the big story. This is not a starter job. We are seeking seasoned, experienced journalists.

The winning candidate will be able to demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in story-telling. Exemplary communication skills and previous experience working in a team environment are a must.

Requirements and Qualifications include:

  • Exceptional handling of live breaking news
  • Outstanding editorial skills
  • Sharp wit
  • The ability to work well with others
  • A self-starter and who can generate story ideas on a daily basis
  • The ability to be a command presence on the desk and in the field
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • The ability to work under deadlines
  • A proven leader and outstanding newsroom citizen
  • Must maintain an active presence on social media platforms
  • Must deliver scripted material and ad-lib situations with energy, personality, and professionalism
  • Must understand the importance of digital and social media inside a newscast
  • Strong journalistic and ethical skill sets
  • The ability to coach and lead staff
