The Washington Examiner is seeking a fast-paced social media producer with strong multitasking abilities, a sharp political mind and to deliver unparalleled content to existing and untapped audiences on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms. 

We are looking for an aggressive social media producer who can connect readers with our coverage of policy, Congress and the White House. A successful candidate can swiftly identify stories that will place our coverage in the heart of the conversation in D.C. 

Candidates will be assigned a social media and writing test. This is to assess your news judgment, speed, writing ability and social media savvy. No content will be published. 

If hired, you will work in the Washington Examiner’s office in Washington D.C. 

What you’ll do: 

• You’ll beat out the competition by breaking news via social media and you’ll push our content to the top of people’s feeds and build a following using the latest video, powerful photos, and intelligent sharelines.

-You will be at the center of the Washington Examiner’s newsroom, bringing new ideas to the table to take our social media game to the next level. 

Here’s what we need from you:

-Availability to work flexible hours to meet publishing demands is critical. The Washington Examiner wins with teamwork, hard work and owning mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends. 

-A minimum of two years experience in a newsroom is a must. Internships and college papers count. 

-A powerful understanding of AP Style 

-A basic understanding of all major public policy topics 

-Adobe Illustrator skills
