Description:

The University of Mississippi seeks a communications specialist to tell the stories – in interesting and engaging ways – of the university’s students, faculty and staff.

The position is a critical member of our full-service communications program, which works to raise public awareness of, understanding of and appreciation for Ole Miss with critical target audiences.

Under the supervision of the associate director of strategic communications, this individual contributes to the production and dissemination of information to internal and external audiences primarily through original news and feature stories.

By building partnerships with other schools, colleges and departments across campus, this individual will develop text for a wide range of publications, news releases and other communications (print and electronic) that seek to tell those stories to internal and external audiences.

The incumbent will also be tasked with working to identify new, innovative storytelling platforms that can help share the university’s story to even broader audiences.

Only applicants who apply online will be considered. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled or until an adequate applicant pool is established. The University of Mississippi is an EEO/AA/Title VI/Title IX/Section 504/ADA/ADEA employer.
