The Greeneville Sun is looking for an enterprising and innovative county government reporter.

The Sun is a six-day-a-week, community daily in Greeneville, Tennessee. We need a generalist with previous news reporting experience, a high level of journalistic initiative, excellent news judgement, mastery of basics (spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.), a strong work ethic, high energy level and preferably a college degree.

The primary focus will be on high-quality, hard news and enterprise reporting in county government and education, but will also at times include general assignments agriculture, law enforcement, the courts, business, the environment, local events and features. Some night and weekend work required.

Must have good computer skills and be able to take photos and shoot video or be willing to learn quickly. Besides being skilled in creating content for print, must be comfortable in creating content for web and social media platforms, or be willing and able to learn quickly. We're also looking for someone who is innovative and can bring new ideas for better serving our readers.

East Tennessee background is preferred but is not a requirement.
