Description:
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, the second-largest daily in the largest state in the nation, is looking for a crime and courts and general assignment reporter who can thrive in the pace of today’s daily newspaper newsroom — writing for print and the web while also pushing out information via social media.
You’ll be covering the Alaska State Troopers, the Fairbanks Police Department and a variety of other law and judicial agencies in the vast region of Interior Alaska. We’re looking for someone who can handle not only the spot news but also the trend stories.
As a general assignment reporter you could be covering news, features, sports — pretty much anything that needs attention in our expansive part of the Last Frontier. The Daily News-Miner is a non-profit locally operated, community-minded publication. We’re all about local.
Preferred applicants will have at least one year's experience at a daily newspaper, but entry-level applications are welcome. Email resume and clips to vfarmier@newsminer.com.
