LRP is seeking a Legal Editor to develop concise case summaries of important court and administrative rulings involving special and general education law for online and subscription-based resources including Special Ed Connection®. LRP’s products provide in-depth coverage and practical, expert advice for K-12 school personnel and attorneys.

Job Responsibilities:

The Legal Editor will summarize legal decisions and agency guidance in a format and style designated to convey the impact of the decision to the reader in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manners, as well as:

  • File a minimum of 3 cases daily for inclusion in subscription products
  • Prepare legal compliance features for Special Ed Connection®
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to subscriber inquiries
  • Follow AP, Bluebook and LRP-specific style guidelines
  • Review case summaries and other word product for spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • JD from accredited law school
  • Minimum one (1) year experience of legal writing and research experience
  • Proven ability to read and efficiently summarize case law
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule or 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., office during normal operating hours (This position does not offer the ability to work remotely)
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
