Dining Editor Needed To Cover The Nation's Most Dynamic Food Scene

Do you appreciate food as more than just fuel, but as a rich source for discussions about everything from history to pop culture? Are you interested in dining as more than just an act, but as a bridge between people and societies? Can you find the newsworthy in everything from a taco stand to a temple of haute cuisine? Do you like digging deeper than typical food writing does, investigating the real source of that supposedly local honey or uncovering behind-the-scenes practices that consumers should be aware of? Are you hungry to cover the city with the nation’s most interesting and dynamic restaurant scene—Houston, Texas—for its most popular magazine?

Houstonia Magazine is currently looking for a dining editor, someone to cover food in all its permutations by posting daily to our food blog, Gastronaut; writing monthly restaurant reviews; editing our in-print dining department, On the Table; and taking lead on food cover stories. This is a full-time position based out of our offices in the Houston Heights and requires at least three years of professional writing experience, preferably with an emphasis in food. The ability to coordinate daily and monthly deadlines is a must, as is the ability to prioritize and organize.

Houstonia offers competitive salaries and benefits. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and at least three clips to cmatusow@houstoniamag.com. No phone calls, please.
