Yellowstone Newspapers has immediate openings at its newspapers in Big Timber and Livingston.

The Big Timber Pioneer is seeking a full-time reporter to cover all aspects of Sweet Grass County. The Livingston Enterprise has an immediate full-time or part-time opening on its Community News desk, which primarily includes page layout of the daily newspaper, but also some reporting.

We’re looking for ambitious journalists who know how to develop sources and generate front-page enterprise pieces while also tackling breaking news. Candidates should work well with little direction and know the importance of generating news that can’t be found anywhere else. We’re looking for reporters who don’t rely on meeting agendas or press conferences to report the news, but instead have a passion for getting ahead of the story and setting the agenda. Previous newspaper experience is preferred, but recent college graduates will be considered.
Yellowstone Newspapers is Montana’s largest locally-owned community group with 13 newspapers in Livingston, Hardin, Laurel, Big Timber, Red Lodge, Dillon, Forsyth, Glendive, Stanford, Lewistown, Miles City, Columbus and Terry. Many of our newspapers are located near Yellowstone National Park — the nation’s first national park — and Montana offers some of the finest fishing, hunting and hiking in the United States. Yellowstone Newspapers offers a generous benefits package which includes paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, medical insurance, 401(k) plan as well as optional dental, vision and life insurance coverage. We’re an equal-opportunity employer.
