Do you keep your finger on the pulse of news cycles? Do you have near-encyclopedic hunches before you go to the Internet?

AListDaily is looking for a News Editor who has a proven track record of following trends in the media/marketing industries, a strongly polished skill set matched with great experience, an ear and respect for tone and 100 percent dedicated to sharing the story of where the marketing and media worlds are going with our audience of Fortune 500 marketers.

Working in-house with our editorial team and remote freelancers, you’ll ideate and edit content in a variety of forms–whether it’s written, video, social media-facing or beyond–to show our readers what’s looming over the horizon.


  • Field and approve story pitches from staff reporters and freelancers at weekly editorial meetings, identifying and assigning written and video stories as well as social media-appropriate content

  • Daily story editing—you’ll work closely with writers during the process, directing pieces as needed and ensuring timely execution

  • Edit weekly scripts for video content and fact-check during video editorial process

  • Stay on top of all news, marketing and non-marketing related, ideating unique, compelling and topical stories no one else is covering

  • Monitor related content from competitors, advising editorial team on ways to angle our coverage

  • Curating and editing a daily newsletter

  • Manage a team of staff writers—providing proactive feedback and inspiration to continuously raise the bar for our news coverage

  • Work with editorial producer and community team to package content online for our audience

  • Reports weekly to editorial director and managing editor

Must Have:

  • 3–5 years experience as an editor in a professional digital-first newsroom, or comparable experience working heavily with tech news on an editorial staff

  • Exceptional written and communication skills

  • Demonstrate strong critical-thinking skills

  • Deep knowledge of the marketing and business landscape with an understanding—or at least a strong curiosity—about the growing MarTech beat

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented individual who is highly organized and an efficient time manager

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices 

  • Must understand our audience—we’re writing for marketing executives

  • A heavy rolodex of contacts in the media and marketing industries

  • Positive attitude, works great on a team, rolls with the punches of a daily news cycle

  • Able to take direction

Good To Have:

  • Social media presence and willingness to share our stories and lead conversations on those platforms

  • Comfortable with public speaking (we’re often invited to participate in events and panels)
