The Good Search is seeking a telecommuting Data Research Associate to join our boutique executive search and recruiting research practice. If you are smart, educated, collaborative, technically adept at wrangling data, you may have what it takes to join our elite team.
The Good Search, LLC recruits senior executive and technology talent for some of the most powerful and successful companies in the digital arena. We also conduct recruiting research. Our clients range from top-tier venture capital startups and private equity portfolio companies to Fortune 100 giants in technology and media. Founded in 1999, we have laid down more than a decade-long track record of success recruiting top talent with an excess of 500 search engagements.
We made “Good” our middle name for a reason. We actually care about the candidate, the client, and about each of our team members and want to make a difference in this world. As a result, an essential part of our success is our ability to hire individuals who share our passion for fixing what is broken about recruiting, and who want to build a business dedicated to the relentless pursuit of that ideal. That is our motivation and our mission.
Our firm was founded by a former award-winning investigative journalist with a specialty in data journalism. We make it a practice to hire people with an investigative, data-intensive skill set -- nerdy candidates with a healthy sense of curiosity who enjoy researching and getting information right, on deadline.
As a Research Associate, you will conduct company and executive research. You will identify prospective candidates, build out profiles in our database, develop phone and email details, and verify that information. You will help build company org charts, determining who reports into whom. In doing so, you will scrape data to assist in chart-building and will help set up scrapers and other programmatic ways to help update the data in the org charts on a regular basis.
Building org charts of target companies is a lot like piecing together a giant jigsaw puzzle. It requires patience, obsessive attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically about data and to spot patterns in information that others might miss. In addition, it helps if you get a strange sense of satisfaction from organizing data, and making sure it does not have informational, grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors. We actually publish the information from our database. We have to get it right.
Responsibilities include the following:
