The Real Deal is on the hunt for a talented reporter to join our team in Manhattan.

The ideal candidate will possess a sharp eye for news; a talent for writing clean, effortless copy and an exceptional facility with tight deadlines. We are looking for someone who is excited about take-no-prisoners business reporting, and who sees the possibility for great stories in the most exciting real estate market in the world. Knowledge of WordPress, PhotoShop and various social media platforms is a plus, as is research experience.

Our award-winning coverage includes breaking news, investigative stories, market reports and longform narrative profiles. This is the biggest and most dynamic real estate market in the world, with a rich cast of characters that are great fodder for storytelling. The ideal candidate will have an interest in covering money and power and a keen interest in learning about how the industry brings together elements of politics, business, law, and urban planning.

The reporter position involves digging for breaking news stories for the website each day, developing sources, working on longer form features for both the website and the monthly magazine, as well as recapping stories from other publications.
