The Laredo Morning Times, a daily newspaper located on the Texas-Mexico border, is seeking a full-time copy editor to join its newsroom.

Duties include headline writing, fact checking, proofing pages and assisting in the production of the main news section. The copy editor also oversees production of the section once a week.

Candidates must have strong copy-editing and writing skills, knowledge of AP style and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment. They should also be assertive and understand journalism ethics and communication law.

Laredo Morning Times, owned by Hearst Corp., offers medical, dental and vision insurance benefits; vacation, sick and holiday pay; and 401K retirement plan.

Laredo is home to 250,000-plus people.
