River City Newspapers in Northwest Arizona has an opening for a news reporter at our publication in Lake Havasu City.

We're looking for a journalist who is passionate about local news. The ideal candidate will be versatile self-starters with good communication and organization skills.

As a reporter for River City Newspapers, you'll have the opportunity to do a variety of news coverage, from daily coverage of local government agencies and spot news, to bigger-picture features and investigations.

About River City Newspapers

River City Newspapers is a partnership between Wick Communications and Western News & Info, based in Lake Havasu City since 1995. Its newspapers are small dailies and weeklies with big hearts and bigger aspirations, eager to tackle big stories and committed to being the strongest source of local news for our communities. Some of those stories have included a deeper look into the lack of workforce housing, ongoing coverage of the drought on the Colorado River, and persistent attention on an education system that doesn’t get the support it needs.  Local news is our forte, but we're also a first-read for many in our audience, who expect us to provide a tightly edited news package from around the state, nation and world.

About our community

Lake Havasu City is a resort town on the edge of the Colorado River and home of the London Bridge (which, despite what certain nursery rhymes may say, is definitely not falling down). Havasu is a community of about 60,000 people, home to a thriving tourism industry with a focus on spring breakers, summer boaters and winter snowbirds.

If you’re the outdoors type, you’ll love Mohave County — recreation opportunities abound here, from watersports and fishing access on the lake to hiking and off-road adventures in the mountains and desert just minutes away. Las Vegas is the nearest metro, about 1 1/2 hours to the northwest, and Phoenix is a 3-hour drive in the other direction. We’re situated near Arizona’s border with California, so Los Angeles and other SoCal destinations are just hours away.

Send your resume, clips and contact information to RCN HR Director Chris Walker at, or by snail mail at Today’s News-Herald 2225 W. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.

We hope you're eager to dig, because there are plenty of stories waiting to be told.
