This is your opportunity to join a creative and collaborative team and leverage your diverse range of editing skills as you work for The Patriot-News in Harrisburg, Pa.

You'll need to be able to spot the content that matters to the community we serve, curating from our website, PennLive, as well as syndicated services to create an engaging print product. The primary responsibility is in planning the Sports section, but it could involve working with news as well. It’s challenging but fun work that will allow you to stretch professionally and continue to develop and enhance your skills alongside peers with the energy and vision to deliver a top-quality newspaper.

To be a strong fit for the position, you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience with emphasis on curation or editing.
  • Knowledge of news and sporting events in the Harrisburg region and Pennsylvania.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with direction and constructive feedback.
  • Working knowledge of digital and print media trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage production timelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply design concepts and theories.
  • The ability to work evening and weekend shifts and the flexibility to work any day of the week. We will provide you with a set schedule, but you should have the flexibility to work outside of that schedule when necessary.
