The Washington Times is seeking an experienced Political Reporter with a keen eye and acute political sense to join our politics team. The politics team covers the three branches of government, major issues bubbling up in the states as well as national and state elections. The successful candidate will be able to spot stories on both the politics and policy side, as well as develop sources among lawmakers, Capitol Hill staffs, lobbying shops and various interest groups.

A strong, fast writer who can quickly file stories to the website and then develop them to give the newspaper's readers additional insight is mandatory. At least five years' experience covering Washington politics and/or a state legislature is preferred. Occasional travel and non-standard working hours are part of the job.
