The assistant editor supports electronic communications and publications produced for ACUI as well as four other organizations. Primary tasks include writing and editing content; using various technology platforms to distribute content; and tracking analytics data for communications.  

Responsibilities

  • Edit and write for The Bulletin (online and print magazine)
  • Collect, edit, and design content for e-newsletters
  • Edit website content via the content management systems
  • Maintain and review analytics
  • Support distribution process for email, social media, and media releases
  • Assist with editing content to support conferences and events, including printed materials and mobile event guides

Qualifications

  • Proven success in meeting deadlines and using Microsoft Office (preferable 360)
  • Professional or internship experience in a communications environment
  • Expertise in AP style
  • Ability to contribute content ideas and be a part of a creative work team
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems preferred
  • Ability to learn from mistakes
  • Demonstrated maturity, judgment, and resourcefulness
  • Experience using an email marketing platform or customer relationship management system preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism, communications, or similar field preferred
