Description:

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“MTA”) is inviting individuals or firms to submit proposals to provide Freelance Writer and Editor Services (Request For Proposal 16219-001).  The Editorial Services unit of the MTA’s Marketing and Corporate Communications department is responsible for conceptualizing and writing a wide variety of daily news articles, print projects, promotional advertising materials, merchant sales kits, presentations, signage, and the MTA website that convey information to the public and help define MTA’s corporate image.  The unit is also responsible for internal communications via the MTA intranet and agency sites and through various print media. The MTA is seeking contractors to assist the Editorial Services staff in carrying out these efforts. 

Typical projects include:

  1. Daily news stories and articles of interest to MTA employees across the MTA network of agencies requiring hard newswriting experience and acumen.
  2. Newsletters, video scripts, articles, speeches, and public notices for general, financial, industrial, academic, and professional publications and audiences.
  3. Brochures, flyers, and mailers, ranging from corporate promotions and press information to customer information and real estate solicitations.
  4. Lengthy works such as corporate planning documents, reports, and procedures manuals.

In order to assist prospective suppliers in the preparation of their proposals, a pre-proposal conference will be held on April 13, 2017. Although registration for the pre-proposal conference is not required prospective suppliers who wish to attend are requested to notify Alejandro Salaman by email (asalaman@mtabsc.org) no later than 12:00 P.M. on April 11, 2017.
