Tennis Channel is seeking a Master Control Operator. Applicant must be versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment. Must have great attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Previous experience as a Master Control Operator is preferred.This is a technical role in a 24/7 operation that strives for excellence and expects excellence from its employees. An important component of the channel's programming is the integration of over 1500 hours of live tennis coverage. Most of the coverage occurs during the early morning or overnight shifts, with a heavy concentration of activity Fridays through Sundays.

Required Shifts: All shifts as needed

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assume responsibility for accurate, error-free broadcasting of all events in a multi-channel, on-air environment
• Ensure the daily broadcast operates nominally and error free
• Proactively check playlists, programming schedules, multiple sources of information to ensure error free operations
• Perform recording, ingesting and QC duties of programming assets into on-air servers and input metadata
• Take ownership for all of on-air activities by monitoring all programming assets in playlists and acting as the first-line responder for resolving problems and troubleshooting

Required Skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge of automation, video and audio switcher operation, file-based workflows and overall master control / on-air broadcast operations
  • Ability to maintain an excellent working partnership with management, co-workers, and other departments and willingness to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a live programming and multi-channel environment
  • Punctuality and excellent attendance
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to work shifts in an unsupervised environment
  • Willingness to take ownership of errors, faults, outages and inquiries to completion

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working as a Master Control Operator
  • Advanced knowledge of Imagine ADC automation
  • Experience withHarmonic Video Servers, Imagine IconMaster, and Nexio MGX FTP Server

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Broadcasting or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Broadcast Operations environment, preferably with sports integration
  • 2+ years of experience working with broadcast automation systems, and transmission technologies
  • Experience working in a multi-channel environment
  • Education can be substituted for experience
