The Brownwood Bulletin is seeking a jack of all trades — paginator/news reporter/sports reporter — to work in the editorial department of our award-winning publication in a growing community in the heart of Texas. Knowledge of photography, Mac computers, Indesign and Photoshop is preferred but not required. Include any previous writing or pagination samples along with your resumé.

The ideal candidate, above all else, is passionate about community news. You like getting to know people around town and can spot a good feature a mile away. The candidate must also be a self-starter who can work independently with a strong writing background, and a willingness to cover a wide range of stories from local government to education to features and beyond. The individual will be expected to also shoot photos and video as well as posting to social media.

The Brownwood Bulletin publishes in print Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and online 24/7 for a county of 30,000 residents that is nestled in the geographic center of the state, within driving distance of Abilene, Waco, Austin and DFW. Home to Lake Brownwood and with a low cost of living, outdoors activities, arts, sports, shopping and restaurants are thriving in the Brownwood area. The position requires an organized self-starter with a passion for community journalism. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, and paid vacation.
