Are you seeking a new challenge that offers unique opportunities to contribute in a close-knit newsroom? Beacon Communications, which publishes the twice-weekly Warwick Beacon and weekly Cranston Herald and Johnston Sun Rise newspapers, wants to hear from you.
The communities we cover have a wealth of stories to tell, and this role provides a dedicated, driven writer with the chance to make a real impact. You’ll be taking on a key role in our newsroom – breaking stories, delving deeply into local issues, and building relationships with a broad range of groups and individuals.
The job involves a flexible schedule, with some night and weekend work required. Recent graduates will be considered, although special attention will be given to candidates with experience in newspapers and/or digital reporting. Handiness with a camera is a plus, as is experience dealing with public records.
As we continue our focus on providing comprehensive and engaging local news coverage for our readers, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an integral part of our team.
Please submit a cover letter, resume, and three clips to Daniel Kittredge, editor, at Beacon Communications, 1944 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI 02889, or electronically at email@example.com.
