The Keene Sentinel, an award-winning, family-owned community newspaper in southwestern New Hampshire, is looking for an enthusiastic health/general assignment reporter to work in a lively news environment.
We’re looking for someone who loves telling stories and constantly works to tell them in new and better ways; someone who is curious; someone who seeks out the news rather than waiting for it to fall into his or her lap and who will get into the community to do the type of reporting that makes journalism meaningful. The right candidate asks questions, follows a hunch and isn’t afraid to pitch good ideas. Applicants must have the self-discipline, drive and time management skills to juggle daily assignments, with the diligence and ambition to tackle thoughtful enterprise pieces.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to get solid training in a newsroom that values mentorship. Reporters write for both print and the web; social media skills are a must.
Tell us how you fit the bill, and how you will make our paper better.
Please send your cover letter and at least four writing samples to Local News Editor Anika Clark at firstname.lastname@example.org. No phone calls, please.
