Central Connecticut Communications, parent company of The Bristol Press and the New Britain Herald, seeks an energetic, creative, multitalented desk editor to join our local news team. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in contributing to our local news package by handling community calendars, obituariest and local business stories.. You will work with a great group of editors and reporters to put out what we feel is an outstanding local news report. The right candidate will have some experience covering local news and events. and feels comfortable with electronic media, including online, mobile and social media; knows the essential components of a news story (our goal is "tight and bright"); and knows the difference between print and web to improve our digital presentation. We're seeking an upbeat writer who enjoys working on a team to put out a great newspaper that truly serves the community. Polish speakers are encouraged to apply (Spanish, too!).
We're near Hartford, two hours from NYC and 90 minutes from Boston. We cover vibrant communities that offer higher education, an array of arts and entertainment, and industries that range from traditional manufacturing to high-technology health care.
