The Rio Grande SUN, a 9,000 paid circulation weekly in Northern New Mexico, seeks a strong news writer with investigative tenacity to fill an education reporter position. The successful candidate must share our news philosophy of going after news stories relentlessly and telling the whole story. The right person will cover the Española school district, a small college and, to a lesser degree, a charter school. We need someone who understands open records pursuits, can network inside government offices and organize coverage. The right candidate must have top-notch organizational skills, be able to cover the basic beat but also understand and report on how politics affect handling of an education institution's business. Supportive management if you like the style of newspapering we do.  Competetive salary, vacation, sick, health, profit sharing. Send resume to Publisher Robert Trapp at rgsunedit@cybermesa.com
