The Palisadian-Post is a subscription-based weekly community newspaper in Pacific Palisades with more than 90 years of history. We are seeking a part-time reporter to join our staff in a hyper-local newsroom in the heart of the Village for a 4-6 month contact, with a potential option to stay on longer.
The candidate should be flexible on scheduling, as there will be some night and weekend coverage required, and understand community affairs, crime and human interest stories, as well as sensitive social issues.
There will be plenty of opportunities for feature writing in addition to developing our digital presence through our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The ideal candidate will be able to commit 20-25 hours per week, with some weeks extending up to 30, depending on what is being covered. Most work will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. While some work will be able to be completed remotely, there will be meetings and events to be covered in the Palisades area, so the candidate must be local when needed.
In addition to a part-time reporter, the paper is seeking freelance writers who are able to produce two to three stories per month.
If you're interested in applying, please send your resume, work samples and a brief introductory email to email@example.com. No calls.
