El Dorado presents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a full-time general assignment reporter. This role involves immersing yourself in the community's pulse and gathering firsthand insights through interviews, investigations, and observations. Your unique perspective and exceptional interpersonal skills are valued and essential for success in this safety-sensitive position. As our general assignment reporter, you'll be covering various community happenings, from government meetings to local sporting events and beyond. Your responsibilities will encompass not just reporting the news but delving deep into stories, analyzing data, and presenting it in a format that captivates our audience. With each assignment, you'll have the opportunity to shape perspectives, inform the public, and significantly impact the community you serve. In addition to your reporting duties, you'll engage in thorough research, attend various functions, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage. Your ability to discern pertinent information, organize it effectively, and craft compelling narratives will be crucial in fulfilling this multifaceted role.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of current events in the sports world
• Knowledge of current events
• Knowledge of journalistic techniques and procedures
• Skill in interviewing, observing, and organizing work elements
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to perform essential work tasks under deadline-driven stressful situations
• Ability to identify and create story ideas and follow through with them
• Ability to get along and interact with news sources, other contracts, the general public, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to transverse all terrain types and perform essential work tasks outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to drive at night and in all weather conditions to attend meetings and other news events.
