Description:
The metal and commodity markets are in the midst of the biggest expansion in a generation. The longest-established news publication in the industry, American Metal Market, is seeking a reporter with minimum 2 years experience to add to its New York-based news team. The new recruit would be responsible for gathering and writing news on this dynamic market for AMM’s live website and daily electronic newspaper. The reporter would be expected to take responsibility for a particular area of AMM’s coverage and build and maintain a contact base while consistently beating the competition to breaking news stories. The role also involves contributing regular features to AMM’s print publication. The right candidate should have a strong interest in business and be comfortable with economic issues. A business reporting background, while not essential, would be strongly beneficial. A healthy appetite for breaking news stories, enthusiasm, curiosity and well developed writing skills are essential for this position.
