The Brunswick News, a 17,000-circulation morning newspaper on the Georgia coast, is seeking a sports reporter to cover a range of sports, from high school football and basketball to fishing to professional golf and to work with the sports editor in the design and production of the daily sports section.

Our core requirements for candidates are at least one year of professional experience as a reporter – in any field, it does not have to be sports – with an ability to write people stories that go beyond game accounts, an interest in a variety of sports and strong design skills using InDesign.

If you would like to be considered for this position, please send up to six clips that show the range of your writing experience and three examples of your design work to (Mr.) Kerry Klumpe, Managing Editor, The Brunswick News, 3011 Altama Ave., Brunswick, GA 31520 or by email to

Brunswick and the barrier islands of St. Simons, Jekyll and Sea islands are midway between Jacksonville, Fla., and Savannah, Ga. The Brunswick area is a year-round resort community and includes a diverse economy with a major seaport, small manufacturing and service industries. Brunswick is also the location of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, where most federal law enforcement officers other than the FBI are trained, and College of Coastal Georgia, a four-year baccalaureate college with a growing enrollment.
