Description:

The Daily News-Record, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, seeks a page designer/copy editor to work nights. The successful candidate will be a professional team player who is thoroughly versed in AP style and has the skills to copy-edit stories and craft accurate, compelling headlines.

Creativity, accuracy and attention to detail are a must. This designer’s main responsibility is paginating either our front page and second section front, jump pages and some inside pages. Other duties may be assigned from time to time. The candidate will be proficient with Quark and Photoshop. The ability to create maps and inviting graphics is a plus, but not required.

College grads with daily experience are welcome to apply. Harrisonburg, Va., is a college town in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting, mountain biking and other outdoor opportunities abound, yet we’re just two hours from Washington, D.C., and Richmond.
