Description:

REPORTING INTERN SOUGHT AT THE POINT REYES LIGHT, MARIN COUNTY, CALIF. The Pulitzer Prize-winning Point Reyes Light, located in coastal Marin County, Calif., is seeking a new intern to join our small newsroom for six months. We are an independent weekly print newspaper covering the environmental, agricultural, cultural and civic life of coastal Marin's communities with original and thoughtful reporting. Our interns are exceptional people who are expected to produce well-researched writing and conduct themselves with sensitivity in our close-knit and complex rural community. Interns produce roughly 1,500 words per week and are paid hourly on a part-time basis. Applicants should have a passion for storytelling and the confidence to converse with people from all walks of life. You will have opportunities to write hard news and features, shorts and in-depth pieces following New York Times style guidelines. You must be creative and self-motivated, with a record of accuracy, productivity and respect for deadlines. You should want to work hard. Please send a resume, references, cover letter and at least five published clips to Tess Elliott at editor@ptreyeslight.com. Our work can be viewed at ptreyeslight.com.
