The Brunswick News, a daily newspaper on the Georgia coast, is accepting applications for a dual track internship in its C.H. Leavy Internship program. This paid, one-year internship will begin this spring. It will allow interns to develop skills as a reporter and as a copy editor/page designer by working alternate blocks as a general assignment reporter and as a copy editor/page designer. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability as either a reporter or copy editor/page designer and possess the adaptability to develop the other skill set.
The C.H. Leavy Internship, named for the founder and previous editors of the family-owned newspaper, is an opportunity for an entry-level journalist, who may or may not have had a previous internship, to develop the skills necessary to become a successful reporter and copy editor/page designer.
The internship includes paid time off. As is typical with internships, it is not included in the newspaper’s health insurance policy. While the internship carries no promise of full-time employment after its completion, successful interns would be considered for employment whenever a suitable position could become available.
