Description:

REPORTER: The Daily Republic, a daily newspaper with a growing online operation in the East San Francisco Bay Area, has an immediate opening for an energetic reporter to join our team of journalists, with a specific eye toward local government, breaking news and community reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in journalism, have at least two years of experience writing for a daily newspaper or for an online news organization and have a passion for aggressive pursuit of breaking news, day or night. A working knowledge of digital reporting techniques and online storytelling required, as is knowledge of AP style. Duties include producing news and features for online and print use and providing articles for various special projects. Photography skills a plus. Bilingual English-Spanish also a plus. Preference will be given to in-state candidates. The Daily Republic is a family owned newspaper whose owners place a high value on quality journalism.
