Versatile news producer/designer
Job Status:  Full-time
Ad Expires:
April 1, 2014
Job ID: 314268

The Kerrville Daily Times, approximately 60 miles northwest of San Antonio, seeks a multimedia journalist to fill our nighttime copy desk position. This person will be comfortable multi-tasking, designing a couple of inside news pages daily, editing The Times' website and fulfilling other assignments.

This is the perfect position for a recent college grad with a broad skill set who is eager to compile diverse clips or the more seasoned journalist who doesn't want to be pigeon-holed. The job also offers opportunities to write on a variety of topics from the Hill Country music scene to feature stories for various special sections.

Outside of the daily copy editing and online duties, we are willing to work with the next producer to design a job description that leverages your individual skills and/or explores your unique interests.

Proficiency in InDesign, an understanding of newspaper design and a firm grasp of AP style are required. Prior experience with online content management, social media and/or photography skills preferred.

The right candidate will be organized, thorough and a stickler for AP style, while also having a fun, creative side that produces interested and engaging pages. Good communication skills and a professional demeanor are musts.
