Do you know the difference between writing a social headline and an SEO-rich title? Are you a natural leader who gets what people want to see when they come to a site, whether it’s via a mobile device or a laptop?

As homepage editor, you’ll be working with news, features and TV segments to ensure everything from headlines to videos to images reflect our tone. You will also be critical in helping us shape Fusion’s digital presence in several ways, including the development of editorial voice, prioritizing editorial content, writing key editorial items and broadly promoting best practices across our platforms. In other words, you will be expected to serve as both leader and evangelist on many fronts.

• Help manage the website homepage and primary subsections, including copy editing text, images and modules
• Organize the daily news schedule, including wrangling the day’s plans from all possible contributors, attending daily editorial meetings, and sending out appropriate story lists to editorial teams
• Act as a liaison with your counterparts at ABC News and Univision News, seeking to maximize content and traffic opportunities 
• Keep track of and diligently respond to organic traffic trends on the site, reacting to opportunities for traffic and revenue 
• Assist with daily production of site, including posting content to the CMS, writing eye-catching headlines and enticing tweets
• Contribute original stories on a regular basis
• Serve as an important partner in meeting content, traffic and sales revenue goals
• Work with managing editor to come up with forward-thinking editorial strategies around mobile and social.

• You have 3+ years of experience in online journalism and/or homepage management
• You can balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks
• You’re an experienced writer and reporter with a proven track record of successfully creating content that is innovative, intelligent and made for digital and mobile platforms
• You have a strong presence on social media and get what matters now and what may matter next. 
• You have the ability to work a flexible schedule
• You have a great interest in and understanding of web content and TV programming.
• You are able to use and manipulate analytics tools (e.g., Omniture, Comscore, Nielsen, Akamai, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Counter, etc.) and behavioral research to drive greater understanding of content engagement
• 4-year Bachelor’s degree required
