Description:

U.S. News & World Report is seeking a paid intern for our consumer-oriented automotive site, usnews.com/cars. This one-year internship in our Washington, D.C. office is ideal for recent college graduates with strong data skills to support our online data processes.

Our ideal teammate is deadline- and detail-oriented and has strong communication skills. You’ll gain experience working with a content management system, online publishing and search engine optimization. This person will primarily be responsible for gathering automotive data for our site, conducting data audits, editing and uploading photos, fact checking car reviews and analyzing site traffic data. Note that this is not a writing position. This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to expand his or her experience in online media.

Requirements:

·         Utmost attention to detail

·         Ability to work on deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously

·         Strong communication and organizational skills

·         Experience gathering, processing and analyzing data from multiple sources

·         Intermediate-level experience using Microsoft Excel (calculations, sorting, filtering, etc.)

·         Basic photo editing skills

·         Familiarity with search engine optimization best practices

·         Experience with website analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) a plus
