Description:

The Daily Union in Junction City is seeking a full-time, energetic, multi-skilled reporter who is talented and willing to do a little bit of everything, including writing on a variety of topics, taking photos, designing pages and copy editing. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand issues and present in a way that is interesting to the reader, shoot quality photos, have at least some knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and have a creative eye and desire to design great pages. Prior page design experience preferred, but will teach the right candidate.

The Daily Union is an award-winning newspaper for its design and overall news writing. Knowledge of AP Style and experience in a deadline-oriented setting are required. College degree in print journalism is preferred.

The Daily Union, a 3-day a week newspaper, engages readers across a variety of platforms, and reporters are required to write for the newspaper and website and engage readers through social media. This position also includes posting stories and other content to YourDU.net, The Daily Union’s website.

Candidate must be willing to work some nights and some weekends as needed.

Junction City is a community made up of 23,000 residents and is at the door of Fort Riley in Kansas' north-central Flint Hills. The Daily Union offers a competitive compensation package including medical/dental insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation and 401(k).
