Description:

The Wisconsin State Journal is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic leader to oversee print and digital production at night. The position requires strong editing, organizational and management skills, along with impeccable news judgment. Our editor will work with the city desk when news breaks at night, and oversee a universal night desk of about 10 people producing both news and sports pages on deadline and delivering content for multiple digital platforms. Candidates must be committed to quality and efficiency on every platform. They must also be equally comfortable with writing headlines and proofing pages as they are working in our content management system.

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in the newspaper business, including at least three as a manager. If you think you’re ready to lead a team of savvy editors and production experts, and you have at least three years of newsroom management experience, we’d love to hear from you.
