Are you looking to begin your career in journalism, or seeking a new challenge that provides unique opportunities to contribute in a close-knit newsroom? The Gardner News, the daily hometown newspaper of North Central Massachusetts, wants to hear from you.

You’ll be taking on a beat within our coverage area, working in towns that have a wealth of stories to tell. This role provides a dedicated, driven writer with the chance to make a real impact. You’ll be breaking stories, delving deep into local issues and building relationships with groups and individuals throughout our communities.

The job involves some night work, largely to cover meetings or provide spot coverage. Some professional experience at a daily newspaper is preferred, although we will consider recent graduates or candidates with other experience. Handiness with a camera and experience dealing with public records is also a plus.

As we continue our focus on providing comprehensive and engaging local news coverage for our readers, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an integral part of our team.

Please submit a cover letter, resume and three clips to Daniel Kittredge, editor, at The Gardner News, 309 Central St., P.O. Box 340, Gardner, MA 01440, or electronically at
